The Wealth Gap
The Wealth Gap is a term used to describe how one group of citizens become very wealthy, while many more stay relatively poor. The richer become able to dominate the existence of the poor. The term works for individuals (ex. Bill Gates), companies (ex. Coca Cola), or countries (the USA, the UK, West European countries).
The Wealth Gap is a consequence of the industrialization, which has taken place from the late 1700s to today. During the industrialization, the Wealth Gap was mainly visible in the relations between factory owners and factory workers. Today, the Wealth Gap shows itself in many more ways.
